Question about pancakes

Post by cody »

I’ve come to realize there is a huge division in the pancake community

Are you team crispy edges or team even browning?

I don’t really eat pancakes, but I make them

I’ll spend longer time making my pancakes look like this Image

Cuz visually it looks more cohesive to me

But I feel like taste wise

The crispy edges win? Where you just slap the batter in the pan on high heat and hope for the best ?

Are you team even browning or team crispy?

Personally i find the diff between homemade and boxed mix.

I get the second pic with homemade, and the first with boxed mix like aunt jemimas

I make pancakes all the time for yrs
is it not true that division causes conflict?

Interesting. My pancakes are always homemade and I spend extra time making sure they are evenly browned (Japanese pancakes are like this)

But I notice the crispy edges are more of an American thing ? Idk. I know the crispy edges taste good.. it adds a caramilzed flavour

But I feel like the maple syrup adds that caramel flavour

I mean I’m not above doing crispy edges

How does one hate pancakes? I can see not fancying them, not preferring them, not ordering them, etc., but actually hating pancakes is crazy to me lol.
