I just realized that my OP wasn't clear at all

I should've just said that bodyweight squats are useless tbh

You can get a fit upperbody and never pick up a weight

but i think it's close to impossible to get enough consistent progressive overload to build big legs without weights

Try sprinting. My legs were massive before I ever started pushing weights

it would. Even lots of uphill hiking will make your legs big.

But i doubt youll get legs like in the pic i posted from just pistol squats or hikin Need some variety and focussed excersizes to get legs like that in any efficient amount of time.
