BOOKS THREAD: What are we reading? Any insights?

Caruso's Method of Voice Production: The Scientific Culture of the Voice - P. M. Marafioti

Opera/classical singing is based more on a depressed larynx, lifted soft palate and open throat. The open throat is what gives operatic singing that darker, deeper, more powerful sound. Nasal resonance is avoided because it doesn't carry over an orchestra.

Modern pop is based on a neutral to high larynx, more constricted throat, and placing the sound more into the nasal cavity. Nasal resonance is fine because of microphones and no need to project over an orchestra.

    Tbh

I'm trying to develop more of a deeper operatic sound because it's less straining on the throat musculature.

Walking with a himalayan master-- justin obrien

Story of a guy who lived and traveled with Swami Rama. Its an interesting read if youre into that shit...
Outwardly there is cronological time. The mind has applied this internally, it says, logically there is time its obvious. So then the mind thinks within time. I am a little depressed now, but i will get to a state of non depression later. The now and later is the time. Takes time to get from here to there. This is also creating a duality. Two things. I am this(the now), i will be that(the later). Simple things like this make you believe in theres a me controlling the thinking.
