I recently got into listening old school,I know E is the godfather of it but I honestly don't see the hype behind his music. Story wise,sure he was the stuff man but I just don't see what else could be of value.

i cant change your mind, but around his time there wasnt much else mainstream that was better. And the internet didnt exist to help expose everyone to the actual inventory of rap that was out at the time. It was regional unless it was the mainstream. So in regards to overall exposure of rap artists, only the mainstream made it everywhere. The rest remained regional until shows like MTV and much music came and helped out. But then he died
