its crazy you go to asia, all their little street food is in little plastic baggies. they use soooo much plastic.

and over here in canada we can't get plastic straws anymore.. all paper straws

literally the worst

so now i just use glass straws

When I was in Indonesia, I had finished drinking a bottle of water and asked the guide where we could find a trash or recycle bin. He took the bottle and threw it on the ground. We were at the beach.

i just watched a podcast the other day not saying, but implying america was the worlds worst ocean plastics polluter

my parents lived in Jakarta for years and told me that in the late 70's during non-tourist season the beaches were filled with literal shit and household garbage and would get cleaned up before tourist season came...

and i was in Malaysia in the late 90s during tourist off season, and on the island of LangKawi theres this "black sands beach" thats a tourist draw, but when i was there had dead livestock and garbage all over it. No jokes

I was in Langkawi in 2019, they cleaned it up like crazy. One of the cleanest, most organized islands I've ever been to. I was actually shocked.

i swam in a swarm of jellyfish and got stung all over my body at the resort i was at haha. Midnight drunk swimmin. Ran out this super long dock in the bay of the resort and just jumped in. Water felt like acid so i got out. It was jellyfish stingin the shit outta me.

lol. Worst part is i already had a severe sunburn... so i had thousands of jellyfish stings on top of a lobster red sunburn.

but i think the chemicals in the jellyfish sting actually helped the sunburn. I literally just slapped aloe on my skin 5x a day for a week and didnt scar or have any lasting effects
