Pff no aesop rock
As far as rap skills and technical ability, He 100% deserves to be on the list

Get Cole, Kendrick, Bizzy, and Andre 3K out of the top ten and insert Drake, Jay, 50, Biggie,Big Moose wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2026 11:35 am 50. Nelly

Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
I think it should go Ye, Em, but that’s personal preference, em a better technical rapper but ye is a visionary
Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
I got pac over nas too
Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
My top seven probably looks like Pac, Drake, Ye, Eminem, Jay Z, Wayne, Nas
Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
Why is tech so high I put him a few spots above Eminem and DMX he is goat
Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
I’m prolly a bit hard on drake
I could see him as high as 5-7.
Bizzy is a personal favorite
I’m prolly hard on Jay too
I can see swapping him with Andre to get in the top 10
But if I move Jay up I’d have to move 50 and Drake up for sure cuz they are just better than Jay
I’m kinda over Biggie in general
Thought about putting him lower tbh
I’ve never given Aesop a fair shake I suppose
I feel like his voice and flow just didn’t grab me the little I’ve heard

Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
I was trying to look past my usual biases about writing and what not
and just look at everything combined. impact, skill, how much i personally like them all combined
so i suppose my inner hate still came thru a bit
I initially started with Nas at 1
Then I had Ye at 1
It might be Ye tbh.
But then my heart said I know my fav is Em. I know I personally find peak Em to be my absolute fav music. So why lie? I'll put him where I really got him.

Re: Official Top 50 Rappers
Kool G Rap is an admitted blind spot but I didn't wanna just lie like I've ever really listened to him.
I just now thought of Joe Budden. He could be on this list. For me at least. Obie Trice if he had another major album or two would prolly be on the list but I guess I can't really justify it as is.
Ice Cube likely is a big snub but I just don't personally like much of his shit. His flow and bars are just kinda basic in a way that is unappealing for me and hits my ear funny.
Maybe should have thrown in Cage over Joyner for some more white boy representation.
Was tempted to put Ja Rule or even Fat Joe somewhere on the list for hitmaking ability but couldn't bring myself to do it.
