I'm not sure about this, but I will say, as a creative person I dislike what AI has done to Pinterest
it has become AI slop and it really sucks because it used to be a place for unique ideas
the synthetic images really irk me
I use Gemini as a regular google search bar
What’s some shit you can do now with AI that most people don’t realize yet

Re: What’s some shit you can do now with AI that most people don’t realize yet
one thing about AI i dont like and maybe its just growing pains. Is before AI, I could google a question and get many results with lots of interesting information. Now, i google and get an ai summary. It feels a little too much like "heres the info we think you should focus on" instead of "heres all the info we can find". Sure i get that it can narrow down efficiency.
granted i dont know how it all works. But the variety of results i personally had/could sift through felt a little more natural. And now it feels too directed. It feels less like i can decide for myself, and more like i need to just go with what this thing tells me.
i guess im old and used to encyclopedias and shit, and coming up with your own opinions instead of just going with what you were told.
Im not at all trying to say the convenience sucks. Or that its not cool you can do what Nohbody said and take a pic of some set up and ask how to optimise it. That is very cool. I just have this mistrust overall lol

I have both. Gonna take a minute to get out the red after all the tokens spent between the two, but it’s a good start.Aby wrote:Start a YouTube channel about anything and get a premium subscription to Claude and Higgsfield.. currently at least at our studio, other than asking it questions for technical troubleshooting, there is no way to use it in any other way. We have a specific pipeline and its set up in a way where the only thing you can use ai for is questions. It cant actually help us do our work yet, and even if i found a way to use it, i couldnt because of our in-studio security and pipeline process doesnt allow a step for that.Fairy Liquid wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 12:35 ambusta I remember you saying that you haven't found a way to implement AI in your work, you said you work in animation/lightingSir Bustalot wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 12:27 am one thing about AI i dont like and maybe its just growing pains. I think the bigger threat to my industry is farming the work out to cheap labor in India and China. Which is already a common thing, and artists lose their jobs to that quite often nowadays. Studio clients realize they can pay a foreign studio half the price to do the same work. That very thing has been the reason many studios have stopped doing certain shows, or shut down completely and is probably one of the current number one causes of unemployment in my industry.
i think eventually it will become a tool we can use, and may cut down on the number of artists needed. But for now its not the biggest thing to worry about
BUT it all depends on what people(the audience) will accept. SO it very well could swing sooner than later to one day just some dude doing everything with AI and eliminating the need for an entire studio.
a lot of studios already are shifting focus towards "distributing" and buying rights to "shows". So theyre getting more interested in being the guy that distributes shows instead of making them.

AI is built for corporate, but it feels like it's actually here to take away those mundane, middleman corporate jobs. as millions of people are scrambling to figure out prompts, how to use it in their day to day work, and adjust themselves holding on for their dear lives to these jobs that leave people pretty replaceable.
looks like theres some cool things AI can do to improve the quality of our lives, but it also seems like.. it's fucking the middle man up in serious ways

im not sure what the overall issue is with why that isnt the focus of major studios. I dont know enough about creative AI to have an educated opinion on it.Fairy Liquid wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 1:06 am

i can speculate but all my ideas are probably addressed and going in the wrong direction. Like i want to say, that for a brand(franchise show) the writers and directors dont like the results or the process with just trying to prompt AI to give them what theyre envisioning. But i dont actually know if thats the case. I dont know enough about it yet. I obviously have seen people make crazy shit with AI thats super cool and realistic, so obviously ai has the ability to at least re-create a look, but theres more to it than that, the writers and directors have a vision, and id think that theyd already be doing it if it were efficient to do so already... but again i dont know enough about it. Id say it will become some sort of a tool we can use first. Like for efficiency and less for our creative process... but who knows
I just know i still have a job and the industry will still exist for several more years, but job security for my industry has always been very low. You work contract to contract and are never guaranteed to get a new one. So were used to uncertainty. Every year you wonder if youll have a job next year. Its just how it goes and always has

I think what you're explaining is something to seriously take into account, I'm thinking in an industry like yours is a good example / baseline to gauge where is this goingSir Bustalot wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 1:18 amim not sure what the overall issue is with why that isnt the focus of major studios. does your studio do different types of animation, or there is just one look throughout the shows? are artists using AI to draw up characters? or create stories?

Re: What’s some shit you can do now with AI that most people don’t realize yet
My studio specifically is a prominent 2d and 3d anim studio, with widely varying looks across all shows, and there is nothing us artists know about that our studio implements or is looking into in the context of ai which is threatening our jobs. Currently if an artist is using ai its not for work unless its troubleshooting technical questions about an app we use. They may be using it at home but there isnt any all ai shows i know about yet. And its possible our writers may use it for superficial stuff like formatting scripts. Also currently we dont see our industry using it for the creative artist work yet. So by that gauge its not quite there.Fairy Liquid wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 1:39 amI think what you're explaining is something to seriously take into account, I'm thinking in an industry like yours is a good example / baseline to gauge where is this goingSir Bustalot wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 1:18 amim not sure what the overall issue is with why that isnt the focus of major studios. It could change very quick with audience... the new generations might love ai shit, what you and i call ai slop. The kids are the biggest market, specially if you can turn your show into merch

Re: What’s some shit you can do now with AI that most people don’t realize yet
I think what AI is doing is killing off industry gatekeeping. More often than not, the “talent” is really just ppl who have access to resources others don’t. Now that everyone has those resources, it’s kinda exposing those who relied on that exclusivity clutch.
A talented person who leverages AI is always going to create better results than someone who isn’t talented but has access to the same tools. The only difference is, that now, every day ppl who don’t have 250k to budget a small cinema movie, can now bring their visions to life in a much more controlled environment that’s relatively budget friendly.
Like I’ve said before on here, we have to stop conflating sweat equity with results. The vision is the one and only thing that matters. The outcome is more important than how you got there. Everything else is just personal bragging rights that do not really amount to anything except personal satisfaction.
